Three books by MFAW alumna Sophfronia Scott due out this fall and winter

MFA in Writing alumna Sophfronia Scott ('14) has three new releases scheduled between September 2017 and February 2018!

Sophfronia’s first book will be released in September. Called Unforgivable Love (William Morrow / HarperCollins), the novel is a reimagining of the French classic Les Liaissons Dangereuses, taking place in Harlem in 1947. She wrote the book at VCFA with the guidance of faculty members Ellen Lesser and Bret Lott.

In December, Sophfronia’s spiritual memoir, This Child of Faith: Raising a Spiritual Child in a Secular World (Paraclete Press), will be published. The book is a project she co-wrote with her son Tain and follows Tain’s spiritual healing process after the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary in Connecticut.

Sophfronia’s third book release will be her essay collection, Love's Long Line (Mad Creek Books). The book, which will come out in February 2018, is part of the publisher's 21st Century Essays Series edited by David Lazar and faculty member Patrick Madden.
