About the 2024 Winter Residency
VCFA’s Winter 2024 Residency took place on the campus of Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA, January 5-13. For nine days, all six of VCFA’s MFA programs came together to conduct residencies packed with lectures, readings, performances, screenings, exhibitions, and more.
2024 College-Wide Residency Events
Convocation and Commencement
Residency opened on January 5 with VCFA’s college-wide Convocation. The event included welcome remarks VCFA’s Interim President Andrew Ramsammy, Interim Academic Dean Mary-Kim Arnold, and a community reading of VCFA’s Statement on Community Values, featuring students, faculty, alumnx, and staff across our six programs.
On January 13, we closed out the residency with a college-wide Commencement ceremony celebrating the class of Winter 2024 graduates.
Center for Arts + Social Justice Awards and Events
The Center for Arts + Social Justice hosted an evening of special events during the Summer 2023 Residency.
This celebratory, cross-disciplinary event began with the announcement of the most recent cohort of CASJ Student Fellows. After the announcement, the Center hosted a panel composed of current VCFA faculty, who each presented their work, followed by a moderated conversation. Panelists: Yoon Soo Lee, Graphic Design; Mario Ontiveros, Visual Art; Hasanthika Sirisena, Writing.
