NON-DEGREE PROGRAMS

In addition to remote Alumnx Events & Programs, VCFA graduates can return to campus for postgraduate study to reinvigorate their career or jump-start new work. Our postgraduate and non-degree offerings allow alumnx to be part of the dynamic VCFA community of faculty, visiting lecturers, guests, and MFA candidates. VCFA Alumnx Event Series

WCYA Book Birthday Parties

With all book tours going remote in 2020, VCFA’s MFA in Writing for Children & Young Adults program began a series of celebrations we call Book Birthday Parties. Join program staff in celebrating the incredible books and amazing achievements of our beloved community.

Alumnx Reading Series

In collaboration with a few MFA in Writing alumnx, we designed this series of readings based on the “Student Readings” many graduates of the low-residency writing program might remember from their time on campus. These brief and informal readings offer an excuse to dust off that old draft, share something new and, above all, connect with fellow writers.

Alumnx Artist-Talks

The VCFA MFA in Visual Art has launched a new Alumnx Artist-Talk Series—conversations with alumnx about their work and centered on a specific theme, idea, or element of artistic practice.

Campus Events & Retreats

WCYA Alumnx Mini-Residency

The Writing for Children & Young Adults Alumnx Mini-Residency offers an opportunity for alumnx to participate in workshops led by VCFA faculty members, enjoy lectures and panel discussions, and participate in alumnx readings. In addition, alumnx can engage with editors, agents, and/or publicists—influential individuals who ultimately define a writer’s career.
