MFA in Writing for Children & Young Adults


Our faculty are nationally known writers of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry for young people. Collectively, they have published more than 300 books, which have had numerous citations and won national and international accolades.

Faculty books have won such honors as the National Book Award, Governor General’s Literary Award, Michael L. Printz Award, Edgar Award, and the Boston Globe-Horn Book Award. Citation lists include School Library Journal's Best Book of the Year, New York Times Best Book of the Year, Los Angeles Times Book Prize, ALA Notable Books, Bank Street Best Book of the Year, and Junior Library Guild Selections. Faculty publications also include New York Times best-sellers, state book award winners, and finalists for the Caldecott Medal, Coretta Scott King Award, Lambda Literary Award, and International Latino Book Award.
