Profile

Edward joined VCFA as Director of Information Technology in the spring of 2023. A native of Montreal, Canada who grew up in Shelburne, Vermont, he attended Savannah College of Art and Design and then moved to New York City to pursue music, video, and photography.

He eventually found his way to the Columbia University community, where he served for 9 years as Associate Director of the Barnard Electronic Archive and Teaching Laboratory. After his tenure in higher education he moved on to the corporate world, working in I.T. management at Estée Lauder Companies and American Securities Capital Partners, and later to a tech startup, as Communications Manager for a peer-to-peer trading platform in the blockchain space. Most recently, he worked in I.T. and communications at the University of Vermont, Grossman School of Business.

Outside of his full-time work in I.T., Edward has always remained committed to the arts, music, and design. In New York he performed in rock bands on bass and drums, designed film and video installations for high-profile restaurants and nightclubs, photographed fashion editorials for magazines, album covers, and the runways of New York Fashion Week, and designed the formula and packaging for a federally approved liquor product. Since returning to Vermont, he has self-published a book of his photography and released a music video and 5-song, solo rock EP, called Love and Japan, Tears For Vanishing Ways.

In his free time, and when he’s not working on his next project, Edward enjoys thrifting, travel, hiking, and karaoke.
