Alumni Hall

This VCFA premiere space is perfect for cocktail parties, fundraisers, receptions, weddings, presentations, dinners, formal events, and art exhibitions. Recently renovated in 2016, this stunning architecture has high ceilings with exposed beams, newly finished hardwood floors, and a mezzanine that overlooks the College Green. This venue is large enough to accommodate a wide variety of events and setup needs and will be sure to stun any guest.

The Chapel

Built with both Victorian Gothic and Renaissance architectural detail, this classic auditorium hosts concerts, performances, and formal ceremonies. It features a formal stage with a large pipe organ, a grand piano, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the College Green. This space is stunningly unique, with its hand-painted filigree ceiling murals and gold-stenciled Doric paneling.

The Gallery

The Gallery is much more than a gallery. This beautiful space is great for parties, wedding receptions, performances, music events, dinners, lectures, and so much more. Large arch windows, trimmed wood paneling, and a grand piano surround this space, with two grand doors leading to the Green and a classic tiered fountain. The college’s cafe abuts this space, with a private door for guests to enter should the event move to the bar.

The Vault

This gem is in a southern corner of College Hall across from Cafe Anna and hails as a little castle. Lit by gallery track fixtures, the Vault is framed with floor to ceiling wood trimming and four arc windows. Though small, it is a precious gathering space with great energy.

College Hall has several rooms available for small parties of 20-30 or less individuals, best suited for classes and small meetings.

Room 206 & 208

Looking for a private space to host a meeting, lecture or training? These rooms in college hall serve as a perfect venue to gather, with conference tables and sufficient space for movement. 206 features an open lounging area abutting the conference area. 206 contains a small kitchenette area and access to the Chapel side stage. Both classrooms are perfect as additional breakout spaces for your training in the Chapel.

Noble Hall

Noble Lounge

The main room of Noble Hall, this space is surrounded by windows overlooking the College Green. With shades drawn and gallery fixtures alight, the room can suddenly become an intimate space for film viewing and presentations, with a drop down screen centered just over the fireplace. Complete with a stunning podium, necessary sound outputs, and a dark wood piano, this grand room is perfect for lectures, presentations, or entertainment.

Reading Room

This salon-style room is home to our extended library collection and is best suited for readings, lectures or presentations. Aside from the cozy feel of walls of bookcases, this space is centered by large empire columns. Anyone would feel grand reading in this room.

This conference space is large enough for several table set-ups, with a lounge area available in both corners of the room. It is also great for entertaining and small parties.

The Lounge

This cozy space offers a large fireplace, a conference table, ample lounging area and a small piano for those creatives that choose to fill the room with music. It is perfect for a laid back gathering of friends or a cozy meeting space.

Accommodations

General Information

VCFA offers classic New England dormitory housing for large or small parties. Individual dorm rooms share two beds per unit, with desks, lamps, and closets. Most floors offer a lounge area, showers, and bathrooms. Laundry facilities are available in-house.

A minimum of five dorm rooms is required to make a reservation.

Noble Hall

Noble Hall is a popular choice for conference groups staying overnight on the VCFA campus. In addition to 20 rooms accommodating a total of 40 people, the dorm houses several comfortable meeting rooms, including the Lounge, Reading Room, and Landing Lounge. The entire hall is available for rent to groups seeking flexible space and privacy. (Please note, there are no handicapped accessible dorm rooms in Noble Hall.)*

Dewey Hall

Dewey Hall is our largest dorm on campus. The building houses a total of 164 people. The first floor of Dewey is the only handicapped accessible dorm floor on campus (20 doubles). Also located in Dewey Hall is Dewey Lounge, a spacious meeting room, and the NECI Cafeteria.

CATERING & CAFETERIA

Cafe Anna

Hours:

Monday-Friday, 8 am – 2 pm

(Hours vary during residencies. Check the Café website for current information.)

Located on the first floor of College Hall, Café Anna is open daily serving hot coffee, tea, espresso drinks, breakfast, lunch, and café fare. Evening hours with bar service also available during select residencies and for special events.

Dewey Cafeteria

Hours:

  • Breakfast: 7:30 am – 8:30 am
  • Lunch: 11:15 am – 1 pm
  • Dinner: 5:30 pm- 7 pm

At Dewey Cafeteria, enjoy wholesome cafeteria fare created by New England Culinary Institute (NECI) students, in a classic college dining hall experience. Students, faculty, and staff gather to enjoy daily meals together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Booking & Accommodations

When are your blackout dates?

We are generally booked during our academic sessions, from mid June through mid August, October, late December through mid February, and April. Additionally, we host academic conferences throughout the year. Please inquire about specific dates.

Can we stay in your dorms?

Yes, we rent out our dorms to adults and supervised groups of children 16 and over.

What is the deposit required to reserve the space?

A 25% non-refundable deposit is due with the signed contract. We ask for full payment one week after the final bill, which is sent out after the event.

Do you require a damage deposit?

Yes, for special events we require a $500 damage deposit.

Damage to VCFA property as a result of a group function will be at the renter’s expense. VCFA cannot be held responsible for lost or damaged items used before, during, or after an event.

Can I customize my room setup for an event?

Yes, there is a $100 fee to have rooms arranged in customized setups.

Catering & Refreshments

Can we bring our own caterer or food for our event?

Yes, you may use any caterer of your choosing, including VCFA’s own catering through Café Anna. Please ensure they provide a certificate of liability one week prior to the event. Our conference services staff can inform you of other local catering options.

Can we provide our own alcohol for our event?

Due to Vermont State liquor laws and VCFA’s liquor license, all alcohol in College Hall must be catered by Café Anna. Subsequently any alcohol not served by Café Anna is prohibited in the building.

In other buildings on campus, any group that would like to serve alcohol at their event needs to contract with a licensed caterer and submit a permit. The permit needs to be turned in with the room setup sheet at least two weeks before the event.

Event Policies & Regulations

Is there a charge for setting up/decorating the day before?

If the room is available, we will allow this for a $100 fee.

What happens if my room setup is late or I need to make last minute changes?

There is a $100 fee for submissions or changes made within two weeks of the event. We may not be able to accommodate changes within 48 hours of the event.

Are there noise regulations for using the space?

Yes, music and loud noise must end by 9 pm.

Are there any restrictions on event start and end time?

Yes, events can start as early as 8:00 am and must end by 11 pm (including breakdown).

Are we allowed to light candles in your facility?

No, candles and open flames are not allowed in our buildings. LED candles are welcomed.

Are there restrictions on decorations at your facility?

Yes. All decoration should be table top.

Glitter, hay, confetti, tinsel, or other loose items scattered on the floor, walls, windows, or elsewhere are not permitted. Nothing may be taped, tacked, or in any way affixed to the facility’s glass, walls, doors, or ceilings on any interior or exterior surface of the facility without prior approval. Exhibitors are responsible for the removal of booth-marking tape, carpet tape, and tape residue left on floors. Failure to remove tape or tape residue will result in labor and materials charges assessed against the user. No screws, nails, etc. may be driven into any part of the facility.

VCFA policy prohibits the covering of building signage, art, emergency procedures, or other building surfaces without written prior permission.

Do you allow smoking?

Guests of VCFA wishing to smoke must use designated outdoor locations. There is no smoking within 25 feet of any campus building.
