William Contino / Workshop Faculty

William Contino was born in Los Angeles and has lived and worked in New York, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and London. He received his BFA from Alfred University and his MFA from Maryland Institute College of Art in 1989.

William has taught at The College of Art and Design at Alfred University, beginning in 1991 as an assistant professor, working in both the Freshman Foundation and Printmaking departments. After moving to London in 1997, he continued to teach drawing and painting at the American School in London for the six years. In 2003 William moved back to Alfred University to teach in the Expanded Media Division as a professor in printmaking. 

William has exhibited work in galleries and museums internationally and has work in collections both public and private. He continues a studio practice involving a variety of media, including painting, drawing, printmaking, and video.
