Tim Wynne-Jones, VCFA Writing for Children & Young Adults Program

Tim Wynne-Jones has written thirty-four books including adult novels, picture books, short story anthologies, and middle-grade and young adult novels.

His collection of short stories Some of the Kinder Planets won the Governor General's Award in Canada as well as the Boston Globe–Horn Book Award. His novel The Maestro won Tim his second Governor General's Award. The Boy in the Burning House won the Edgar Award of the Mystery Writers of America. Rex Zero and the End of the World, was a 2007 Horn Book honoree.

The novel Blink & Caution won Tim his second Horn Book Award. His latest YA novel, The Emperor of Any Place, has received seven starred reviews since it was published in the fall of 2015. A new picture book, Secret Agent Man Goes Shopping for Shoes, was released in June 2016. His new novel, The Ruinous Sweep, will be out in June 2018, followed by a collection of short stories in 2019.  Tim’s work has been published in Japanese, Korean, Danish, Dutch, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Catalan and Hebrew. Tim was made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2012.
