Peet Pienaar

Peet Pienaar is a South African commercial and vernacular designer with a background in contemporary art, as well as creative director and founder of Mami Wata surf, known for his extensive research in design in Africa and the diaspora and his significant involvement in the development of creating alternative visions and conversations in a decolonized design world.

Peet has done work for the NY Times, MTV, Comme des Garcon, Moncler, Camper, and Bos Iced tea. His design work has been included in many international collections including The Smithsonian Institution, Washington; the Stedelijke Museum, Amsterdam; Museum of Design, Zurich; and the South African National Gallery.
