As part of its fall 2021 residency, the MFA in Film program will present a private screening of YELLOW ROSE, directed by visiting filmmaker Diane Paragas and written by core faculty member Annie J. Howell, on Sunday, October 24. In the film, a Filipina teen from a small Texas town fights to pursue her dreams as a country music performer while having to decide between staying with her family or leaving the only home she has known.
There will be a free, public Q+A and talkback with Paragas and Howell livestreamed on Zoom at 8:30 pm ET on Sunday, October 24. YELLOW ROSE is currently available to stream on Amazon, and it is strongly encouraged that you view the film before this session. Register in advance via the link below.
