Poet Kristen Tracy '98 wins 2017 Emily Dickinson First Book Award

The Poetry Foundation will honor Kristen Tracy '98 during its Pegasus Awards ceremony on June 12th and her first collection of poetry Half-Hazard will be published by Graywolf Press in 2018.

Tracy KirstenThe Emily Dickinson First Book Award is an occasional prize (last awarded in 2012) and is designed to recognize an American poet age 40+ who has yet to publish a first collection of poetry. Half-Hazard was previously a finalist for the Yale Younger Poet Prize and a semi-finalist for the Walt Whitman Award and Sarabande Books' Kathryn A. Morton Prize.

Kristen has also written 12 books for teens and kids. Her latest book, released two weeks ago, is Project Unpopular: Totally Crushed, a novel that's part of a funny middle-grade series she's doing with Random House. Find out more at www.kristentracy.com.
