Parsons & Charlesworth is a future-focused design studio founded by Chicago-based British designers Jessica Charlesworth and Tim Parsons. Their speculative, research-driven projects explore ecological, social, and technological challenges through installations, objects, writing, and digital media, inviting audiences to imagine alternative futures.
Their work has been showcased internationally at venues such as the Venice Biennale, Walker Art Center, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Science Gallery Monterrey, and the Istanbul Design Biennial. Recent honors include the 2024 Lumen Prize Futures Award, a 2021 Graham Foundation Grant, and residencies at Headlands Center for the Arts and Krems, Austria. Both are graduates of the Royal College of Art, Parsons has an MA from Design Products and Charlesworth graduated with an MA from the Design Interactions program and both teach at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
