A visual artist, Mercedes Teixido works in the arena of abstract watercolor drawings, improvisational drawing, letter writing and site-specific works. Her work is concerned with the quotidien and intimate experiences of individuals and cultural and personal consciousness as expressed thru form. She attended Wake Forest Universty and completed her MFA at the U of Arizona. Mercedes currently teaches drawing and fiber arts at Pomona College in CA.
