Matías Piñeiro screened LA PRINCESA DE FRANCIA (THE PRINCESS OF FRANCE) and discussed mise-en-scène and the relationship between cinema and theatre in his work.

Piñeiro was born in Buenos Aires, where he studied and taught at the Universidad del Cine. He has directed one short, ROSALINDA (2011), and several features, including THE STOLEN MAN (2007), THEY ALL LIE (2009), and VIOLA (2012), which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. LA PRINCESA DE FRANCIA (2014) is the third installment of his Shakespearean project. In 2011 he received the Radcliffe Institute Fellowship from Harvard University for his film project SARMIENTO, TRANSLATOR. He currently lives in New York.
