Profile
Emily Schweber is a feature film casting director and has cast over 100 movies. With an art degree in printmaking from Sonoma State University, Emily worked in the silkscreening industry for eight years. She began in casting by assisting with commercials and extras casting in the Bay Area. After moving to Los Angeles, she was trained by the late Mali Finn, one of the most respected casting directors in the industry, and Emily was the casting associate on such films as The Matrix,
L.A. Confidential, Titanic, True Lies, The Green Mile, Mission Impossible, Wonder Boys, Tigerland, and The Wood, among others. Emily was the Film Independent Directing Lab Advisor for 2018 and 2019. Many of the films Emily cast have won distinctions at all the major film festivals.
Recent movie credits include:
‘Wayward’ – World premiere at the 2023 Deauville Film Festival and opening a theatrical run Nov 2-24.
‘Monica’ – World premiere at the 2022 Venice Film Festival and US premiere AFI Film Festival and nominated for two Spirit Awards this year.
‘At The Gates’ – World premiere at the 2022 Deauville Film Festival and US premiere at the New York Latino Film Festival (won Best Narrative Feature.)
‘Four Samosas’ – Premiered at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival.
