Elizabeth Law has always been an avid reader of children’s and YA lit, so after college she moved to New York to become a children’s book editor. She has more than 30 years’ experience in children’s book publishing, beginning her career at Viking Children’s Books and Puffin Books, and holding positions as Associate Publisher at Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers and as Publisher of Egmont USA. She is currently backlist and special projects editor at Holiday House Publishing, where she continues to acquire books by new and established writers and artists. Some of the many people she has worked with in her career include Andrew Clements, Tomie dePaola, Dan Gutman, Tony diTerlizzi, Gail Gibbons, Holly Black, and Lane Smith.

Elizabeth has a soft spot for contemporary middle grade and YA fiction, such as debut novelist Polly Farquhar’s Itch, and also likes anything funny or scary, doll and dollhouse books, and picture books on unusual or interesting topics.
