Doug Blush, an award-winning director, producer, editor, writer, and cinematographer, gave a lecture called The Art and Craft of Documentary Editing.

Blush’s most recent credits include, as Supervising Editor, the 2013 theatrical hit 20 FEET FROM STARDOM, winner of the 2014 Oscar for Best Documentary.

20 FEET also brought an ACE Eddie Award win for Best Documentary Editing, as well as membership with the prestigious American Cinema Editors. He was Editor and Associate Producer of 2012’s Academy Award nominated and double Emmy Award winning THE INVISIBLE WAR, directed by renowned documentarian Kirby Dick, and worked in both roles with the same team on the new film THE HUNTING GROUND.

His film OF TWO MINDS, co‐directed with his wife Lisa, is an intimate look at three people living with bipolar disorder that has played across the U.S. and Canada, winning both the 2013 EIC Prism and SAHMSA Voice Awards for excellence in films on mental health issues, and is now in release by Cinedigm on DVD and digital, OF TWO MINDS has been a top documentary on Netflix since December 2013.

Other film highlights include editing the crossword‐culture hit WORDPLAY and the Academy Award‐shortlisted national debt primer I.O.U.S.A.; editor and co‐writer on THESE AMAZING SHADOWS, a wide‐ranging appreciation of the National Film Registry; editor and executive producer on HBO’s Superheroes, an on‐the‐street documentary tracking the adventures of real life crime‐fighters; editor of the Emmy nominated OUTRAGE with director Kirby Dick; the Eugene Jarecki‐directed segment of FREAKONOMICS, and the editor of the popular investigative documentary BEER WARS. He has additionally edited, supervised and/or produced over forty other feature documentaries and programs, and has been nominated five times for Best Editing at the Sundance Film Festival. He has also worked as a TV and feature film sound supervisor, as well as an animator for ABC/ Walt Disney Studios, and has shot and edited behind‐the‐scenes documentaries for major Hollywood features including INDEPENDENCE DAY, DANTE’S PEAK, and TITANIC.
