DINTY W. MOORE’s books include the memoirs Between Panic & Desire and To Hell With It (University of Nebraska Press, 2021), The Accidental Buddhist, and numerous writing guides, among them Crafting the Personal Essay, The Rose Metal Press Field Guide to Writing Flash Nonfiction, Dear Mister Essay Writer Guy and The Mindful Writer. His work has been published in Harpers, The New York Times Sunday Magazine, The Philadelphia Inquirer Magazine, Creative Nonfiction, The Southern Review, Kenyon Review, The Georgia Review, Utne Reader, and elsewhere.
Moore is founder and editor-in-chief of Brevity, the flash nonfiction journal. He co-edited the 2020 anthology, The Best of Brevity: Twenty Years of Groundbreaking Flash Nonfiction. For many years, Dinty made his home in Athens, Ohio, where he directed the Creative Writing program at Ohio University. He now lives “on the edge of” Philadelphia, and continues to teach at writing intensives and retreats around the US and abroad. We’re thrilled to welcome him back to the Postgrad Conference.
