Allison Grimaldi Donahue (b. Middletown, Conn.) is the author of Body to Mineral (Publication Studio Vancouver, 2016) and the co-author of On Endings (Delere Press, 2019). She is the translator of Carla Lonzi’s Self-portrait (Divided, 2021) and Blown Away (Fomite, 2021) by vito m. bonito. Her writing and translations have appeared in places like The Brooklyn Rail, Words Without Borders, Flash Art, BOMB, NERO, and Tripwire, and she has recently performed at Kunsthalle Bern, Cabaret Voltaire, MACRO, MAMbo, the Cross Foundation, and Short Theatre Rome.

Her multilingual poetry installation reimaging Italo Calvino’s Invisible Cities through the lens of contemporary immigration is presently exhibited at MACTE Termoli. She is currently working on translations of the work of Alice Ceresa and Patrizia Vicinelli, two experimental feminist authors. She holds an MA in Italian literature from Middlebury College, an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts, and a PhD in Philosophy from European Graduate School. She lives in Bologna, Italy.
