VCFA Music Composition Alumnx Daniel Gil (MC ’22) Enters the First Round of Grammy Voting
In late 2023, it was announced that VCFA MFA in Music Composition Alumnx Daniel Gil (MC ’22) was nominated to be in the first round of voting for the 66th Grammy Awards in Contemporary Classical Composition (category 94).
The honored piece is the first movement of Daniel Gil’s composition Peacemaking in Three Movements, which was performed by Invoke string quartet and recorded at VCFA in Montpelier.
“I could never have written this composition without VCFA,” says Gil of the piece and the first round Grammy nomination.
If Gil’s piece passes through this round of voting, it will be officially nominated for the final round of Grammy voting. The VCFA community sends its warm congratulations and well wishes to Gil as he enters voting season.
