COMMUNITY NEWS: VCFA’s Three 2025 GDUSA Students to Watch
Three members of the VCFA MFA in Graphic Design community have been named as 2025 GDUSA Students to Watch: Tim Murray (GD ’24), Jewell Melisa T. Morton (GD ’25), and Fernando Del Rosario (GD ’26).
GDUSA’s Students to Watch list is a highly respected annual tradition in the design community. As America’s premier graphic design publication, GDUSA publishes their list of graphic designers from graduate and undergraduate institutions who are “top students” ready to make an impact on the broader design community.
Tim Murray and Jewell Melisa T. Morton are both recent graduates of the VCFA MFA in Graphic Design program. While at VCFA, Murray’s thesis “Intent” sought to understand the complex history between designers and design tools with a critical awareness of the rise of artificial intelligence in the design space. Morton explored design in the intersection of games and education in the thesis project “Choose Your Own Adventure.” In particular, Morton’s thesis examined how educational “gamification” could increase student engagement in middle school settings.
As a current VCFA student, CEO and Creative Director of ConceptZombie Fernando Del Rosario is in the midst of his VCFA programming, and recently became the President of the VCFA Student Leadership Council.
The entire VCFA community extends their congratulations to our three 2025 GDUSA Students to Watch.
