Nate Trier released Palehound in a Sea of Color, a new album of electroacoustic music for piano and accordion, in October 2019. The music uses time-shifting and electroacoustic techniques to create a wide range of timbres from a very limited selection of pitches. Trier notes, “Perhaps in that sense it’s an inversion of classical chamber music.” The album consists of two pieces: an eight-minute piece that explores the overtones of just three pitches, and a 61-minute remix that explores new tonalities and timbres.

The album is available on Bandcamp and on all streaming services.
