Events for Film Summer 2023 Residency

The MFA in Film program will hold its summer 2023 residency on the campus of Colorado College, July 21-29. Visiting filmmakers include Zoë Bell, Andrew Bujalski, Damon Davis (F ’20), Merawi Gerima, Vuk Lungulov-Klotz, Amanda Micheli, and Dominga Sotomayor.

Two children travel with their parents from Santiago to the north of Chile for a family holiday. The landscape’s loneliness and the car’s confinement help bring out the couple’s troubles, and the children learn that this might turn out to be their father’s farewell and their last family vacation.

DOUBLE DARE: Film Screening & Q&A w/ Amanda Micheli

Stuntwomen Jeannie Epper and Zoe Bell are experts at taking punches, swinging swords, and being blown to bits. Epper first gained respect as Lynda Carter’s stuntwoman on TV’s “Wonder Woman,” while Bell had a long run as Lucy Lawless’ double on the series “Xena: Warrior Princess.” But, in a primarily male profession, the women still have to struggle against sexism to find jobs. This documentary chronicles their uphill battle in Hollywood and their enduring friendship throughout it all.
