MFA in Writing announces new visiting faculty members
The MFA in Writing program is pleased to introduce two new visiting faculty members who will teach during the Winter-Spring Semester beginning December 28, 2018.
The visiting faculty members include:
Parneshia Jones is the author of Vessel: Poems (Milkweed Editions, 2015), winner of the Midwest Book Award. Her work has been anthologized in She Walks in Beauty: A Woman’s Journey Through Poems, edited by Caroline Kennedy and The Ringing Ear: Black Poets Lean South, edited by Nikky Finney; and featured on PBS Newshour, the Academy of American Poets, and espnW. Hasanthika Sirisena is the author of The Other One (University of Massachusetts Press, 2016). Her essays and stories have appeared in Copper Nickel, The Globe and Mail, WSQ Narrative, The Kenyon Review, Glimmer Train, Epoch, StoryQuarterly, Narrative, and other magazines. Her work has been anthologized in Best New American Voices; Everyday People: The Color of Life; This is the Place: Women Writing about Home, and named a notable story by Best American Short Stories in 2011 and 2012.
