Ibi Zoboi and Rita Williams-Garcia make National Book Award shortlist
MFA in Writing for Children & Young Adults alumna Ibi Zoboi (’14) and former WCYA faculty member Rita Williams-Garcia have made the shortlist for the 2017 National Book Award for Young People’s Literature!
The National Book Award shortlist features five books in the children’s literature catagory and VCFA is represented by two titles! And here’s a fun fact: Ibi was Rita’s student during her time at VCFA.
