Profile

Pianist, musicologist, and music industry professional Trudy Chan, since moving to New York City from Hong Kong in 2002, has enjoyed a busy career as a music publishing executive, as well as an active musician. She worked at the international music publisher Boosey & Hawkes for over a decade and, at the same time, formed her own performance group with vocalist Phillip Cheah, the Cheah Chan Duo, performing around New York City, as well as in Philadelphia and in Singapore. Trudy is the featured pianist on a new CD of the vocal music of Jonathan David, which will be released on Centaur Records in fall 2022.

When she is not performing, Trudy runs her boutique company, Black Tea Music, along with her business partner, Beth Holub, working with composers and new music performing artists.
