Pilar Arthur-Snead
Administrative and Development Assistant to the President
Profile
Pilar (pronounced Pee-lar) Arthur-Snead is an experienced administrative and development professional with expertise that aligns beautifully with the heart of VCFA’s mission: creativity, service, and impact.
In addition to her administrative background in healthcare, education and nonprofit development, Pilar is also an accomplished artist and photographer with an MFA from the Academy of Art University. For over a decade, she operated her own photography studio and gallery in Troy, NY, curating exhibitions and telling stories through her lens. Her professional experience blends business acumen and artistic sensibility – an ideal combination work at VCFA.
Pilar served as Development Manager of the Pride Center of the Capital Region and Corporate Support Manager of Girls Inc. of the Greater Capital Region. In both roles, she cultivated and deepened donor relationships, developed and managed fundraising campaigns and elevated organizational visibility – all with an appreciation for mission-driven work.
In addition to her career accomplishments, Pilar has held various leadership roles in her community serving on nonprofit boards, as a mentor and coach, as well as championing access to the arts, outdoor spaces and physical fitness specifically for women of color and people of color.
In her free time, Pilar enjoys spending time with her husband and fur tribe, traveling abroad, marathoning and playing video games.
