Katie Rasmussen
Interim Administrative Dean
Profile
Katie Rasmussen (she/her) is the Program Director for the MFA in Writing for Children & Young Adults. She works with all program constituents—students, faculty, prospective students, and her VCFA colleagues—to ensure that the WCYA program lives up to its reputation as one of the best MFAs in writing for children in the world. Prior to VCFA, Katie worked for fifteen years at the American Museum of Natural History in NYC in science teacher preparation and professional development. She holds a BA in Anthropology from Yale University and a MSEd in Higher Education Administration from Baruch College’s Marxe School of Public and International Affairs.
Katie lives in Vermont where she enjoys being an indoor kid. Her favorite pastimes include hosting dinner parties, experimenting in the kitchen, singing (pretty well) and playing the guitar (not as well), and curling up with a cup of hot tea and a good book.
