Joan Grubin (New York, New York) is a practicing artist, and is a ’03 graduate of VCFA’s MFA program in Visual Art program.

She divides her time between New York City and upstate New York, exhibits her work widely, and is an active participant in the arts communities of both NYC and the Hudson River Valley. She has been a recipient of a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship and has been a fellow at the MacDowell Colony. In addition to making art, she writes about it and periodically curates exhibitions. In an earlier chapter of life, Joan enjoyed a career as a documentary film editor, working primarily for Public Television. She has three grown children and lives with her husband, the documentary film producer David Grubin.
