From the beginning of the MFA in Visual Art program in the summer of 1991, founder G. Roy Levin hired a videographer to document many of the talks and lectures that were presented at each residency. These videotapes lived quietly in a College Hall closet until James Long (VA ’02) digitized them over the course of the last two years.

As VCFA looks forward to its newest chapter we invite the entire VCFA family to join us to look back at some of our foundations via a screening of the very first public lecture from that summer of 1991: “Art & Social Context: A Panel Discussion by the Visual Arts Faculty”, 93 mins.

Panelists include Alexandra Carpino, Janet Kaplan, Jacqui Taylor Basker, Richard Martin, Leslie Williams, and Clayton Lee, some of whom are original program faculty. It is moderated by G. Roy Levin.

Join us on November 21 at 8pm ET. Register in advance here or at the link below.
