As part of its spring 2021 residency, the MFA in Film program will present a private screening of visiting filmmmaker Shaka King’s JUDAS AND THE BLACK MESSIAH on Monday, April 19, at 7 pm ET. Fred Hampton, a young, charismatic activist, becomes Chairman of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party—putting him directly in the crosshairs of the government, the FBI, and the Chicago Police. But to destroy the revolution, the authorities are going to need a man on the inside.
Rent and watch the film beforehand on YouTube, and then tune in for a public Q&A with King, which will be livestreamed on Zoom starting at 9 pm.
