As part of its fall residency, the MFA in Graphic Design program welcomes the design studio Morcos Key for a free, public presentation in the College Hall Chapel, 36 College Street in Montpelier, Vermont.
Designing within multicultural contexts and across a variety of scripts comes with a set of challenges. Consideration for history, cultural nuances, and diverse communities come into play. In this talk, Wael Morcos and Jon Key will showcase their studio practice as a model for how a contemporary design studio can create vital work that gives visibility to underrepresented narratives. They will share work unfolding between the US and the Middle East, spanning editorial, branding, exhibition, and type design.
