The MFA in Music Composition program will host its first ever remote mid-semester showcase event, “Light in the Darkness,” on Friday, December 18, from 8–10 pm EST.

The event will feature original short works by current students, alumnx, and faculty in celebration and anticipation of the Winter Solstice. Works will be presented by video, showcasing a range of styles resonant with this theme.

The event, hosted by faculty member Roger Zahab, will stream on Livestorm. (Those of you who attended the program’s first virtual residency in August will be familiar with this platform from the ensemble concerts and songwriters showcase.) Pre-registration is required.

This free event will offer the opportunity to connect with our broader community and to create an intimate evening of music together—what the MFA in Music Composition program does best.
