As part of its fall 2021 residency, the MFA in Film program will present a public screening of ANGELS ARE MADE OF LIGHT, directed by visiting filmmaker James Longley, on Wednesday, October 27. A stirring and beautiful documentary from Academy Award-nominated director James Longley (IRAQ IN FRAGMENTS), ANGELS ARE MADE OF LIGHT traces the lives of young students and their teachers at a school in the old city of Kabul. Interweaving the modern history of Afghanistan with present-day portraits, the film offers an intimate and nuanced vision of a society living in the shadow of war. View the trailer on YouTube.

The screening will be livestreamed on Zoom at 6:15 pm ET, followed at 8:30 pm ET by a Q+A and talkback with Longley. Both events are free and open to the public. Register in advance via the link below.
