As part of its spring 2022 residency, the MFA in Film program will present a public screening of AMERICAN EXILE, directed by visiting alumnx filmmaker John Valadez, on Monday, April 25, at the Savoy Theater in Montpelier and virtually on Zoom. The film centers on brothers Valente and Manuel Valenzuela, who volunteered and fought in Vietnam. Now, 50 years later, they are being deported, but they are not the only ones. Follow the brothers as they learn about exiled veterans and embark on a journey to bring them back home. View the trailer on Vimeo.
The screening will begin at 7 pm ET, followed at 8:10 pm ET by a Q+A with Valadez. The event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required. Register now via the links below!
