As part of its fall 2021 residency, the MFA in Film program will present a public screening of A THOUSAND GIRLS LIKE ME, directed by visiting filmmaker Sahra Mani, on Monday, October 25. In the film, Khatera, a 23-year-old Afghan woman, is a victim of sexual abuse from her father. She tells her story publicly on national TV, seeking punishment for her perpetrator and shedding light on the faulty Afghan judicial system. View the trailer on YouTube.
The screening will be livestreamed on Zoom at 1:45 pm ET, followed at 2:45 pm ET by a Q+A and talkback with Mani. Both events are free and open to the public. Register in advance via the link below.
