MFA in Writing Community In the News

There is a lot of recent good news surrounding our MFA in Writing community!

Rigoberto GonzalezThe September/October issue of Poets & Writers Magazine contains an interview with author Jacqueline Woodson by Writing faculty member Rigoberto Gonzalez.

Two alumnae—Erika Anderson (’11) and Sarah Seltzer (’12)—also contributed articles in the same issue.  

A number of our alums (and one current student) also earned several prizes in August: 


  • Current student Marya Hornbacher was the recipient of the Annie Dillard Award for Creative Nonfiction.
  • Poet David Mura (’91) was a recipient of a McKnight Artists Fellowship. 
  • Fiction writer Melissa Pritchard (’95) won the McGinnis-Ritchie Award in fiction. David Ebenbach (’00) won the Juniper Prize in short fiction for his collection, The Guy We Didn’t Invite to the Orgy.
