VCFA composers to present at North Country Electronic Music Festival

Film alumnus Josh Koury to premiere VOYEUR documentary at the New York Film Festival

Josh KouryKoury co-directed VOYEUR with Myles Kane. The documentary follows 84-year-old modern journalism legend Talese as he prepares to publish his creative nonfiction book, Voyeur’s Motel. Talese’s book is about Colorado motel owner Gerald Foos who secretly watched his guests through custom ceiling vents and an observation platform.

Graphic Design student Adam DelMarcelle's latest installation raises heroin abuse awareness

DelMarcelleThis important work is comprised of guerilla projections displayed in Adam's hometown of Lebanon, PA, with the goal of starting conversations around the heroin and opiod crisis. 

Adam's work has also reached the national level. The Library of Congress asked him to submit three of his projections earlier this month. 

Three books by MFAW alumna Sophfronia Scott due out this fall and winter

Sophfronia’s first book will be released in September. Called Unforgivable Love (William Morrow / HarperCollins), the novel is a reimagining of the French classic Les Liaissons Dangereuses, taking place in Harlem in 1947. She wrote the book at VCFA with the guidance of faculty members Ellen Lesser and Bret Lott. 

New scholarship funding available for all incoming MFA in Graphic Design students

ScholarshipsEach student who is accepted and enrolls in the MFA in Graphic Design program for October 2017 will receive a $2,000 incoming semester scholarship, with potential options for additional merit- and need-based funding. The application deadline is Aug. 28, 2017.

MAT exhibitionTen students will receive their degrees—six students will earn their Master of Arts in Teaching in Art & Design Education degree (MAT) and four students will receive their Master of Arts in Art & Design Education degree (MA).

MFA in Music Composition announces summer residency events

VCFA Young Writers Network receives Vermont Community Foundation grant

YWN GrantIt’s the first time VCFA has been awarded a grant from the Community Foundation. The College will use the funding to bring a VCFA Young Writers Network program to Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom.

MFA in WCYA summer residency lecture series and public readings announced

The Darrow Lecture series recognizes longtime faculty member Sharon Darrow, who has served in nearly every capacity of the WCYA program—from graduate assistant to program director to faculty chair. VCFA created the series as an annual opportunity for WCYA students to gain inspiration from and engage with successful graduates.
