Jensen Beach is a writer and translator living in Vermont with his family. He holds degrees from the Program for Poets and Writers at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and Stockholm University. He is the author of two collections of short fiction, Swallowed by the Cold (Graywolf) and For out of the Heart Proceed (Dzanc). He’s currently working on two translation projects, both collections of short fiction by Åsa Foster. His own work has been published in A Public Space, Kenyon Review Online, Spartan, Cincinnati Review, Tin House, American Short Fiction, N+1, The Paris Review, and the New Yorker. He teaches in the BFA program at Johnson State College, where he is fiction editor at Green Mountains Review. Since 2005, he’s been an editor at Hobart, where he recently cofounded and coedits Hobart Handbooks.
Elizabeth Powell is the author of The Republic of Self, a New Issue First Book Prize winner, selected by C.K. Williams. Her second book of poems, Willy Loman’s Reckless Daughter: Living Truthfully Under Imaginary Circumstances won the 2015 Anhinga Robert Dana Prize, selected by Maureen Seaton. Her work has appeared in the Pushcart Prize Anthology 2013, Alaska Quarterly Review, Barrow Street, Ecotone, Harvard Review, Indiana Review, Missouri Review, Mississippi Review, Slope, Sugarhouse Review, Ploughshares, Post Road, Zocalo Public Square, and elsewhere. She is Editor of Green Mountains Review, and Associate Professor of Creative Writing at Johnson State College. She also serves on the faculty of the low-residency MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. She lives in Vermont.
