Film student John J. Valadez’s film to be shown on PBS stations

John J. Valadez, a current student in the MFA in Film program, will show his film THE HEAD OF JOAQUIN MURRIETA across public television stations during Hispanic Heritage Month.

ValadezThe provocative and poetic road trip film about a severed human head— produced and edited by Carleen L. Hsu—follows director John J. Valadez on a cross country journey as he discovers the untold story of the lynching of Mexican Americans, and his own family's connection to that troubled past.  

The film is a co-production with WKAR/PBS in East Lansing, Michigan, and is scheduled to air on hundreds of PBS stations.
