Debbie Dunn (Austin, TX) graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Computer Science and worked in the computer industry, at Hewlett Packard, for 20 years specializing in databases and data mining.
In 2006, she graduated from Vermont College of Fine Arts with an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults. Her first book highlights three women computer pioneers and is forthcoming from Disney. Her hobbies include tennis, reading, and large-scale home remodeling. Debbie has served as a Board Member for The Writer’s League of Texas, Regional Advisor for SCBWI Austin (Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators), Board Member for The ARC of the Capital Area of Texas, and Board Member for The Women’s Leadership Council in support of the Long Center for the Performing Arts. She was a charter member of a philanthropic group in Austin called IMPACT Austin.
