MFA in Visual Art Residency

The MFA in Visual Art program’s winter 2023 residency will be held on campus January 25 – February 4. VCFA Visual Art alumnx have become accomplished scholars, activists, organizers, educators, and practicing artists, and the program honors, and embraces their endeavors by inviting several to join the residency as Visiting Scholars and Artists-in-Residence. Concurrently, is an Alumnx Reunion in celebration of 33 years of the program’s “adventurous and collaborative” in spirit, “owned” by all involved,” as once noted by founding director, G. Roy Levin. This is a moment not only to reflect on those values, but also to discuss what is needed to sustain them moving forward.
Residency guests will include: Co-Alumnx-Artists-in-Residence Corey Pickett (’17) and Geno Luketic (’18); Co-Alumnx-Scholars Judy Walgren (’16) and xtine Burrough (’01); Past Faculty member and Visiting Scholar Việt Lê and Visiting Artists Christophe Barbeau, Tannaz Farsi and Mari Spirito.
Eight students will graduate with their MFA this residency: Kristina Bolduc, Dorian Diaz, Molly Gambardella, Cassandra Grigware, Lauren Miller, Vanessa Miranda, Maha Taitano, and Amy Veatch.
