Music Composition alumnus Timothy Miller selected as a fellow for the 2017 Wyoming Festival

MFA in Music Composition alumnus Timothy Miller (’13) has been selected as one of six composition fellows for the 2017 Wyoming Festival to be held August 2-11, 2017 at Grand Teton National Park. 

GTNPDuring the festival, six string musicians will perform music by each fellow. Accommodations, concerts, and round table discussions are all centered in rustic environments of the AMK Ranch in the national park surrounded by the Grand Teton Mountains. Timothy’s 2015 chamber work—"224 slices of pi" for flute, cello, piano, and percussion—was selected as a Finalist-Honorable Mention in the 2016 American Prize for Excellence in Composition. The piece was written as a composition fellow at the 2015 nief-norf Festival of Contemporary Music in Knoxville, Tennessee.
