Jonathan Bailey Holland’s new work to be performed by Curtis on Tour

MFA in Music Composition faculty member Jonathan Bailey Holland’s newest work will be premiered by Curtis on Tour at the end of July.

This new musical piece called “Forged Sanctuaries: String Quartet No. 2” was commissioned by the Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival and the Curtis Institute of Music. Seeking inspiration from the Cape Cod National Seashore, this commission celebrates 50 years of the National Endowment for the Arts and 100 years of the National Park Service. The commissioning and touring of this work is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Jonathan says: “For this work, I drew from my personal knowledge and experience of Cape Cod, as well as the forces that created and continue to shape this place of respite and rejuvenation. I hope you can attend one of the performances if you are nearby.”
