Photo Essay: Inaugural Fall 2013 Residency

The inaugural MFA in Film residency (October 2013) elicited a powerful mix of perspectives, creativity, and new ideas. From a scriptwriting intensive with Brandon Cole, a view of changing distribution dynamics with Terence Nance, and an overview of digital effects with Dan Schrecker, faculty inspired dynamic discussions. Nina Davenport presented the trends in personal documentary and Till Schauder discussed the creative approach to his latest documentary.

Each day culminated in a film screening at the local art house cinema in downtown Montpelier, followed by a question-and-answer session with the featured director. Special guests included Yael Malamede, Oscar-winning producer of Inocente and My Architect, and John Turturro, who screened his film Romance & Cigarettes
