Dr. Kimberly Sheridan has been invited to be a keynote speaker at the Make it Now! Conference at the University of Turku in Finland.
The Make It Now! Conference will take place Sept. 28-30 in Rauma, Finland. This year’s theme will be “Learning, Exploring, Understanding.”
Kimberly has also been busy in a number of other areas. Her work on learning in makerspaces is featured in a new edited volume: Makeology: Makerspaces as Learning Environments (2016, Routledge Press). In her chapter, Designing for resourcefulness in a community-based makerspace, Kimberly reports on how her research suggests makerspaces promote a sense of individual and communal resourcefulness in learners.
She has also published a research article for a special issue on Innovation in Animals and Children for the prestigious research journal Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society B—the oldest scientific journal still in publication. This special issue looks at the origins of novel and creative behavior across species.
