Hawley Hussey is a well-known and inspired artist-teacher and administrator with an active contemporary art practice that includes visual art, writing, and performance. Her work has been exhibited, published, recorded, and collected internationally.

With over two decades of experience in arts administration and extensive knowledge in the areas of contemporary art education, strategic planning, collaborative action research, and program assessment, Hawley is known for building sustainable and vibrant arts education communities where all are mentored and supported.

Hawley is a co-founding member of the Bronx Envision Academy, an arts integrated public high school entering its fourth year.  She is a member of the Park Avenue Armory Artists Corps, working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to create educational programming for school groups and the public.

As Director of Contemporary Art Education at BRIC in Brooklyn, NY from 2005-2014, she established the vision and direction for a vibrant and highly collaborative arts education community and helped open the organization's permanent home in Downtown Brooklyn's Cultural District. Since opening BRIC House, Hawley has launched several other new projects that engage contemporary working artists with public schools.
