Elaine Witten

Elaine Franz Witten (Emerita) (Shaftsbury, VT) is an award winning classically trained bronze sculptor.

She received art education at Connecticut College and Columbia University and was a student at the Carving Studio, West Rutland, Vermont. She also studied with Jane Armstrong, FNSS. Elaine has produced a CD on the lost wax method of bronze sculpture casting following one of her works. She has taught sculpture at Southern Vermont Art Center in Manchester, Vermont, for the past nine years. Ms. Witten’s juried professional affiliations include The National Association of Women Artists in New York, Academic Artists Association in Springfield, Massachusetts, and the Copley Society of Art in Boston, where she is a “Copley Artist.” Elaine also has a Registered Nursing degree. She has served on the board of Pine Cobble School in Williamstown, Massachusetts, for four years and was a Trustee of the Village of Old Bennington, Vermont, for 12 years and served as Presiding Officer.
