Elaine Franz Witten (Shaftsbury, VT) is an award winning classically trained bronze sculptor.
She received art education at Connecticut College, Columbia University, and was a student at the Carving Studio, West Rutland, VT. She also studied with Jane Armstrong; F.N.S.S. Elaine has produced a c.d. on the lost wax method of bronze sculpture casting following one of her works. She has taught sculpture at Southern Vermont Art Center, Manchester, VT. for the past twelve years.
Ms. Witten’s juried professional affiliations include The National Association of Women Artists, N.Y., NY, Academic Artists Association, Springfield, MA, and the Copley Society of Art, Boston, MA where she is a “Copley Artist”. Elaine also has a Registered Nursing degree. She has served on the board of Pine Cobble School, Williamstown, MA for four years and was a Trustee of the Village of Old Bennington, VT, for twelve years and served as Presiding Officer.
